Specific information for artists 2008

The Maindays with the world championships, the “World Bodypainting Awards”, and further special categories are from 18. – 20. July 2008.
The artists have the opportunity to show their own specialties in the different categories - bodies painted with many different materials and techniques, and sometimes combined with the most fantastic costumes, masks and show effects.

The competition categories have been expanded for 2008 with the categories Brush/Sponge and Airbrush also available for Semi Profesional. All details for participants are available in the rules. The facepainting category will also be separated into “classic” and Special Effects Make up.

Registering for the Competition Categories

• The 4th of July 2008 is the cut off date for registrations. When registering payment of the deposit is necisary. It is recommended to register early as all categories have limited numbers of participants. Registrations are possible online here
  
• When registering an ID will be given to each artist in each category.
  
• The ID numbers are given in order of registration.
  
• When regestering a deposit of €uro 50 per category is payable to make the registration valid. The registration is only valid after the payment of the deposit.
  When picking up the artist acreditation the full amount of €uro 50 is returned.

• Registrations before 1st of April get a World Bodypainting Festival Shirt for free
• It is posible to take part in more than one category as long as the competition times do not cross over.
• As in previous years in the World Awards there is a pre selection and final day in the categories Brush/Sponge and Airbrush.
• Every artist can choose for themselves if they take part in the Professional or semi professional categories. The rules hold further information relating to this.

• The festival grounds open from 9.30 am.
• The artists in each category begin painting at different times.
  The “time running order” grafic sheet for artists shows the various start, finish, jury and
  presentation times for each category.

• The jury area for all categories (Bodypainting, Facepainting, Special Effects) is found behind the stage in the backstage area.
  
• A short interpretation of the work can be made in English to the jury. You enter the judging tent in rising order of your Identification numbers (ID).
  
• All artists should please stay in the photo award area after the judging, to give the photographers and other visual award participants the chance to get the works of art on film. This is also necessary for the photo catalogue, which will be printed later and sent free of charge to all artists and models.

• The models will be presented on the mains tage. The stage dementions are available in the info download area www.bodypainting-festival.com.
  
• Every artist can bring their own music on CD (no usb sticks or other media).
  
• The stage presentations run in the order of the artist numbers (ID).
• The earlier you registers, the earlier you will be on the stage for the presentations.
• The limit for presentations is maximum 2 minutes.
  
• If you have prepared a very spectacular show and the 2 minutes are not enough, please contact us to speak about it.
  
• The Semi Profesional category will be presented in a flowing combined catwalk show.

• The results are avaiable after the presentations for each category.
  
• The award presentations will be after each competition. The World Award categories
  “Brush/Sponge”, “Airbrush” and “Special Effects Bodypainting” will be presented on Sunday before the fireworks.
  
• All artists can pick up their results and participation certificate at the artist information tent.

• In the running order paper “Timetable Artists” you will find the times for starting, ending, Jury and presentation for all categories. The info sheet is attached to the guidelines pdf file or online here.

Some artists who have attended the festival in past years have mentioned to us that they would like to create an artwork at the festival without competing in the World Championships.

For artists who are masters in their various techniques we also have the option of presenting work on the demonstration stage. This work may be completely outside the theme, guidelines and rules of the contest. Your model may also perform on the main stage and enter the photography area. Photos of your model are also addmisable in the World Photo Competition.

Artists will be included in the festival schedule and timetable on the festival site. Only one artists can exhibit at the time, so places are limited.
