Specific information for facepainting participants

Each year, body artists from all over the world meet up in Seeboden and have the chance to take part in the world championships, the “World Bodypainting Award”. The festival is the best gallery in the world for artists to exhibit their bodyart work.

The main days with the world championships - World Bodypainting Awards - and other special categories are from the 20– 22 July 2007.
On one of those days, also the World Facepainting Award will be presented.

• Registration is possible untill the 4th of July 2007 and only valid after paying the deposit. You get an artist ID. The organization will allocate you to a specific tent.

• The deposit of €uro 50 will be returned when you take your artist festival badge at the artist information. We ask you to please transfer the deposit after the confirmation of your registration to our banking account:

• There is only 1 category. The contest is organized on 1 of the main days.

• The participtation is limited to a maximum of 30 artists.

• The participants will be pre-selected. After registration please send us photos of your work. When we confirm your registration you can proceed to the deposit fee payment.
  

• Participants work without any assistant – neither hair nor accessories are allowed to be done by an assistant. If you don’t follow the rules we are sorry but we have to disqualify you.
  
• Only one model should be painted.
  
• All product brands of face- and bodypainting, accessories and special effects can be used.
  
• You can paint the face, neck and décolleté.
  
• One theme will be given. In 2007 the theme is „Illusion and dreams“.
  
• The jury consists of 3 persons who will be around while you work.
  
• The jury judges:
  idea and originality, use of color
  interpretation of the theme
  quality, technique, difficulty of realization
  
• The contest starts at 2.00 pm. It is not allowed to fix hairstyling or other decoration on the head before this time.
  
• The facepainting section is a compact area on its own in the festival. Participants will be allocated to the working area.
  
• The presentation on the main stage starts at about 4.00 pm. after the jury.
  The model is asked to go with the artist on stage. On stage will be a table and seat as well as a mirror. We ask the model to take place on the seat. The face of the model will be broadcasted on the video wall, so that visitors can see the details of the work and the expression of the model which is the essential part in the presentation of the work. The jury won’t judge the expression.
  
• The best presentation will be awarded a special prize.
  
• The music will be provided, but if you have a special wish, you can bring your own title on a music CD (Just bring the CD to the presentation, we’ll collect it then).

• Wigs and false hair -to be attached only to the hair area on the head- no length restriction
• Decorative head pieces and hats to be attached only to the hair area, not touching or coming lower than the shoulders
