Project in co-operation with the
Fachhochschule Technikum Kaernten

[Carinthia University of Applied Sciences]

Project Overview:

In recent years there has been more and more work for the World Bodypainting Festival staff (due to the rising number of visitiors and actors) in organizing and running the event. The Carinthia University of Applied Science (study path geo information) is devoloping a spatial Information System, which should help to reduce work and increase efficiency.

Up to now the only spatial support for the organisational staff were analogue CAD plans of the festival site. This old system should now step by step be replaced by a new digital solution.

Benefits of this system will, among others, be a faster handling of the artist booking process along with better Orientation (e.g. spatial info-points will be installed) at the festival (for both actors and visitors).

Latest news

Currently the project team is working on the development of the abstract data base model, which finally should be implemented in the system.

We are at the very time testing the latest version of the model to ensure its full functionality. Furhermore a desktop based prototype version of the system (realized in ArcView 3.2) should be developed, in order to proof the functionality of the data base model.
