Bands and musicians at the World Bodypainting Festival 2011

Shaggy [Jamaica]

The world-famous singer Shaggy joins the World Bodypainting Festival 2011 for an exclusive concert in Pörtschach at the lake Wörthersee! So far, this is the only confirmed date for a performance in Austria. Shaggy's music stands for summer, sun, beach and fun, and during his performance, he will put across exactly this feeling to the audience. Who does not know his international hits like "Boombastic", "It wasn't me", "Angel" or "Strenght of a Woman"? Shaggy is the winner of a Grammy Award and a legend in the music industry. His hit "Feel the Rush" was not only in the charts all around the world, but was also the official anthem for the UEFA European Championship.

Shaggy comes with a travel party of 13 people incl. his band to the World Bodypainting Festival and will make the festival Sunday even more colourful with his summer-sound. Shaggy, a Jamaican, Grammy Award winner and advert-icon for "Maxi King" – a superstar who will rock the festival with an exclusive performance at the lake Wörthersee.

Patrick Nuo [Switzerland]

Patrick Nuo, the Swiss singer and dream boy, will perform at the World Bodypainting Festival 2011. He is well-known as the jury member of "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" (German talent show for singers) and is viewed on TV twice a week by millions of people. Patrick has produced 3 albums, 8 singles, and is one of the most famous singers in German speaking countries. Since 2010, he lives in Los Angeles, where he works as a singer, song writer and DJ.

Grossstadtgeflüster - Elektropoppunkpartydingsbums-Music [Germany]

Grossstadtgeflüster stands for the idea of combining crystal-clear pop with bulky music for freaks in one song. The spectacular live shows are a mix of electronic, dirt and bling-bling, and attract all kinds of lateral thinkers and seekers for the essence in life. The 3 band members from Berlin produced well-known songs like "Ich muss garnix" (I do not need to do anything), "Haufeweise Scheiße" (Shit in heaps) and "Lebenslauf" (CV), and have now finished their third album that is even more forceful, colourful and head stronger then before. The electropoppunkpartydingsbums music makes people think and has only one aim: to make the listener feel a bit happier then before.

Stamping Feet ... GROOVE UND POWER FÜR BAUCH UND FÜSSE [Germany]

the thunderstorm of drums from BerlinIf you have ever experienced a performance of Stamping Feet on stage, you will get addicted to see it again. They use all kinds of objects like drums and tumble on rubbish bins, barrels, and much more, and even make music with motor saws. We are talking about 3 wild drummers from Berlin, who bring a firework on ideas, acrobatics and melody onto stage. Their music is a mixture of drums focusing on current sound and catchy melody. The crew consists of Sven Hertrampf, Basti Reznicek and Matze Mantzke, all well-known musicians of the Berlin music scene.
Since 1997, the band tours around Europe and inspires countless audiences at concerts, galas and on radio shows. The biggest concerts over the last few years included performances at the FIFA World Championship, UEFA European Championship as well as tours around Turkey, Malta, Austria and Switzerland. The band gets its support from the Rapper MC Ramon from Berlin, who is also known in the States for his lyrics.
The current album called "Burning Drums" features 16 tracks and offers modern drum music mixed with soft voices, crispy lyrics and soulful songs.

Loonaloop - Live Electro Dance Band [Australia]

Loonaloop are a live Australian electro dance band, who has been active on the international festival circuit since early 2003.
Best described as a live organic dance band, Loonaloop's music is an excursion into the various styles and genres of electronic music that are current in the modern dance scene, drawing on influences ranging from drum and bass, trance, house and electronica. The five piece line up is well renowned their intoxicating high energy performance and their ability to take the audience on an uplifting musical journey. Loonaloop's distinctive sound is driven by a combination of organic instruments (didgeridoo, violin, tabla, Perc) modern techniques, programming via computers etc. The live show includes drums, bass, vocals, Violin, Didgeridoo and keys to create a full, live sound.

Tschebberwooky Raggae [Austria]

Are you ready for the Dance King Doctor ? When the Wooky-groove catches you, there is no way of escaping...

Tschebberwooky is one of Austria's most successful reggae bands and famous for their multicultural reggae vibe and unique style. After the production of 3 albums and more than 300 concerts, they started a cooperation with Sam Gilly (House of Riddim) and worked on their newest CD "The Dance King Doctor". This new album is a mixture of different styles, structures and instruments, and for sure the strongest compilation of Tschebberwooky.

Shanta Noir [Austria]

Shanta Noir's music is inspired by the diversity of traditional cultures and the different styles of electronic charts. Great beats and African drums merge together, using the didgeridoo, saxophone, flute and vocals. Shanta Noir emphasises the importance on the powerful performances of the musicians. The music is passionately multicultural and seduces the soul to have an inner dialogue. In addition to other electronic genres, Shanta Noir leaves no doubts on the importance of satisfying the dance appetite of the community.

Drumline der AB Rhythm & Drum Company KG" [Austria]

The "Drumline der AB Rhythm & Drum Company KG" is a formation from drummers on original American Drumlineinstruments which brings the sound of the states to Carinthia. Rhythm loaded performances alternate with choreographical Stickings as well as rock Grooves and promise true fireworks in drumrhythmns.

GERMAICA AUSTRIA Soundsystemshow feat. UPLIFTMENT INT'L & TOM HYPE [Germany/ Austria]

GERMAICA DIGITAL presents the first Artiste on it´s brand new sublabel GERMAICA AUSTRIA: TOM HYPE!

Born and raised in Klagenfurt/Carinthia, the young Artiste did his first steps in the music business in 2005. After a succesful year with KEENTUNEZ SOUND he joined HOTSTEPPA SOUND from Villach and immediately they started to rock the venues Austria-wide.... With TOM HYPE on the microphone the band SOUND.SAFARI joined the "Local Heroes Band Contest 2008" where they reached the 4th place in the national finals – the best ranking of a Carinthian band ever. In 2009 together with the Hip Hop crew DECKTALES TOM HYPE started a monthly regular called "Hip Hop vs Dancehall" at Club Loco in Villach and DECKTALES' DJ B.VISIBLE started to provide productions for TOM HYPE.
GERMAICA DIGITAL - follow up label of the legendary European Dancehall outlet GERMAICAN RECORDS - took notice of the Artiste and started working with him. In 2011 the first single of TOM HYPE - "Euros" was released on the UPLIFTMENT INT´L/DREADSQUAD produced "Question? Riddim". The video for the song is starting to attract attention worldwide – feel the HYPE!
